The anime and manga Tonari No Kaibutsu Kun (My Little Monster) will be getting its own live-action adaptation in 2018! This fan favorite is a romantic comedy with a good story and hilarious characters.

The Story

Haru Yoshida is a high school student. He is viewed as a problem child with unpredictable behavior. He also doesn’t have any friends.

Haru Yoshida and Shizuku Mizutani sit next to each other in class. One day, small thing happens which causes Haru Yoshida to have feelings for Shizuku Mizutani. He then confesses to her about how he feels.

K-Drama Preview: Prison Playbook

Hello Dramatics and welcome back to another K-Drama Preview! Today I will be discussing the Korean Drama Prison Playbook. This drama has a huge and exciting cast which stars: Park Hae Soo, Krystal Jung of the K-Pop group (fx), and  Jung Kyung Ho to name a few. Prison Playbook is directed by Shin Won Ho who is responsible for directing the ever so popular “Reply” Series (Reply 1997, Reply 1994,  and Reply 1988). Prison Playbook tells the story of Kim Jae Hyuk who is a baseball player who suddenly becomes a prison inmate. This drama will explore the life and stories of these inmates.

Korean Drama Preview: Man-Hole: Feels So Good

Hello Dramatics! It’s you favorite Drama Queen back again with another exciting K-Drama Preview. Man-Hole: Feels So Good tells the story of an unemployed man named Bong Pil (Kim Jaejoong) who falls into a manhole by accident and ends up traveling back in time. The stars of Man-Hole: Feels So Good are: JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong as Bong Pil, UEE as Kang Soo Jin, Jung Hye Sung as Jin Seok, and B1A4’s Baro as Jo Suk Tae. Let’s learn a bit more about our characters.

Characters

Bong Pil is played by Kim Jae Joong  He’s an unemployed ordinary young man who randomly experiences an extraordinary event in his life during the moment when he needs it. He has a one-sided crush on his long-time best friend named  Kang Soo Jin, so when she announces that she will be getting married soon he feels like the world has fallen apart. Fortunately, he realizes that the manhole functions as a portal to the past,  so he can use it to stop the wedding from happening. The caption on his porter accurately reveals his intention: “You think you can leave me alone and get married to another guy?”

Uee is playing Kang Soo Jin, a woman known in their neighborhood for her stunning beauty. She has known Bong Pil for a long time but their relationship as each other’s best friend did not develop into something that Bong Pil has long desired. Her poster reads: “You’ll come to my wedding, right? You’re my one and only best friend.”

Playing the second female lead is Jung Hye SungHer character is named Jin Seok, also known as “Sook-prite,” (wordplay on her name and Sprite) the smartest among her group of friends. She seems surprised as well upon hearing Kang Soo Jin’s wedding announcement as the caption on her poster says, “You used to say bullshit about having a blind date! Now you’re saying you’re getting married?”

Baro is playinig the role of Jo Suk Tae, Bong Pil’s best friend and an old enemy. He is described as someone who looks kind and shy but he’s actually capable of deceiving other people and betraying his friend with his innocent smile. He says on the poster: “No matter what, I’ll definitely win over you! My life is a success if you are ruined!”

As you can tell by the video teasers and posters this drama is bound to leave it’s viewers with tons of laughs and adventure! Man-Hole: Feel So Good is the second time-slip drama of KBS this year after The Best Hit which ended recently. Chinese Drama Preview: Lost Love In Times – (醉玲珑)

Hello Dramatics! Your favorite Drama Queen is back with another exciting drama preview! Lost Love In Times-(醉玲珑) is a Fantasy/Historical/Romance Chinese drama about a woman who makes an ultimate sacrifice for love. This drama premiered on DramaFever on July 24th 2017.  The romantic drama series stars Cecilia Liu  and popular singer-actor William Chan.

Feng Qingchen (Cecilia Liu) is a sorceress from the powerful sorcerer tribe that has pledged to protect the royal family of the Western Wei kingdom. Yuan Ling (William Chan) is the king’s son and fourth prince. Yuan Zhan (Xu Haiqiao), the seventh prince, is Yuan Ling’s biggest competitor in both power and love.

After meeting each other in an accidental encounter, Qingchen and Yuan Ling fall in love. When Yuan Ling ascends to the throne, he is determined to marry Qingchen, but the court is vehemently against their union because of the traditional accord that forbids marriages between the royal family and the sorcerer tribe. It is also believed that such a marriage will lead to turbulence in the kingdom. Yuan Zhan launches a coup on the day of the wedding ceremony, and Qingchen uses her magical powers to reset the universe in an effort to prevent further bloodshed. But, in the alternate universe, people and things change greatly to an unrecognizable state. Qingchen meets a new Yuan Ling who has forgotten her, and she can only suppress her feelings to secretly protect the prince. Are the lovers fated to be star-crossed forever?

Love Lost in Times is adapted from Shi Siye’s novel, Drunk Linglong. The production team include producer Tang Lijun, director Lin Yufen, scriptwriter Rao Jun, style director William Chang, costume designer Fang Sizhe, artistic director Chen Haozhi, and stunt coordinator Cao Hua. Production began on October 24 October 2016 and wrapped up on March 20, 2017. The 54-episode series started airing two episodes back-to-back on Dragon TV every Thursday and Friday, on July 13, 2017.

The cast is lead by Cecilia Liu as Feng Qingchen / William Chang as Yuan Ling / Xu Haiqiao as Yuan Chan / Han Xue as Head Sorceress Tao Yao / Han Dong as Xi Xie, Head Sorcerer / Huang Mengying as Princess Duo Xia of Achai tribe. The extended cast includes Liu Yijun as King Wei An / Zeng Li as Yuan Ling’s mother, Royal Consort Lian / Li Chengyuan as Yuan Chan’s wife, Consort Jin / Zheng Yecheng as Protector of the Ling Long Order / Gao Yiqing as Crown Prince Yuan Hao / Gong Jun as Yuan Che (11th prince), Zhang He (aka Ryan Zhang) as Yuan Ming (9th prince) / Xu Jiawei as Yuan Li (12th prince) / Tang Jingmei as dark sorcerer Wu Biting / Liu Yinglun as Feng Luanfei, Qingchen’s younger sister / Ma Chunrui as Ming Mo, Qingchen’s close friend / Mao Fangyuan as Xiao Xu, Prince of Southern Liang / Su Hang as Zhang Shu, Western Wei army commander / Xu Jian as Mu Kesha, Tugu army’s great general.
